The IMC

The IMC is a digital arts education and research centre situated at the North Campus building of The University of Western Ontario. The IMC houses a multi-media instructional lab, a production studio and six independent multi-media reseach suites.

The multi-media lab is equipped with twenty-eight student workstations, each hosting a wide range of computer applications. Students are able to learn everything from the production of video, sound and music to the design and authoring of online websites.

The research area is composed of six multi-media suites or pods. These pods are designated research areas related to a special endowment from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation, OIT and ADF that grants research in the area of Multi-Media Technology under the supervision of the Canadian Research Chair.

The Interdisciplinary Media Centre falls under the shared domain of the following three faculties and their respective departments:

The multi-media lab and its equipment are available exclusively to students enrolled in courses that have been officially authorized to use the IMC.
